NVIDIA to display their Intel chipsets
Graphic Cards Giant Nvidia is due to display their own chipsets for Intel-based computers today. However, it would be quite sometime before the products are made available in the retain market for sale. The company expects to sell their high performance chipsets for the computers running Intel Processors sometime from April.
The product would come integrated with a number of features like an integrated firewall. It would also let the consumers to put two separate graphic chips on the same computer. This should make it a special offering compared to the rest of the chipsets available in the market.
The company spokesperson also told the media that their chipsets would be making it easier for the consumer to add additional second or third storage device to a PC. Nvidia as a company is mostly known for their higher end graphical cards in the market. However, they also make chipsets for Intel€™s prime competitor AMD since quite sometime now.
It now forms a majority of the chipsets available for AMD computers in the market. They also supply chipsets to Hewlett-Packard for their dual-processor based workstations. Many big players in the PC manufacturing market have announced plans to launch computers based on this Chipset from Nvidia.
Nvidia decided to enter the market for Intel Processor based chipsets looking at the huge market it provides them. Intel owns a major stake in the PC Processor market with around 80% market share. AMD provides them with a relatively puny market and now with their Intel based chipsets, they can look forward to a great new source of income.
