Blackberry App World won’t have ultra cheap applications
Research in Motion has just announced the launch of a mobile application store for their Blackberry smartphones.
This online store has been named Blackberry App World.
The company said that the store would work with RIM devices running the company’s operating system (version 4.2 or higher).
The devices would require to have a trackball or a SurePress touchscreen.
It is going to be available initially in USA, Canada and UK markets. Customers would require to have a PayPal account for payments.
Some other details are also out on the pricing options for the applications.
Applications can have the following price points:
Free,
USD 2.99, USD 3.99 and so on till USD 19.99 with a dollar increment.
After USD 19.99 the prices would be in increments of USD 10 till USD 999.99.
RIM has apparently decided to ignore the popular price points like 99 cents and USD 1.99.
USD 999.99 is the top limit for the price of any application that can be offered on this store.
