Tim Armstrong is the new CEO of AOL
Time Warner owned AOL has announced the appointment of Tim Armstrong as chairman and chief executive officer.
Tim Armstrong comes to AOL from Google. He is the President of The Americas Operations & Senior Vice President at Google.
Randy Falco (CEO) and Ron Grant (COO) would both be leaving the company after the transition period. They were appointed in November 2006.
Armstrong was one of the main forces behind the success of Google’s online advertising business which remains the major revenue source for the search engine giant.
Time Warner Chief Executive Jeff Bewkes spoke about his appointment as the new CEO of AOL: “Tim is the right executive to move AOL into the next phase of its evolution.”
