Google has a 72% market share in US search industry
Hitwise has revealed in its latest report that Google now has a market share of 72% in the US search industry.
They have gained 8% in its share in the last 12 months.
The company had a market share of 72.11% of all U.S. searches conducted over a four-week period that ended Feb. 28.
Market share of other search engines:
Yahoo: 17.04 %
MSN: 5.56 %
Ask.com: 3.74 %
Except for Microsoft, none of the other companies have shown little effort to boost their effort to take on Google in this segment of the market.
Microsoft is still hoping for a deal with Yahoo which would give them their share of the search engine market.
The company is also testing an updated search engine technology internally which could soon be launched for the public. This technology is codenamed Kumo.
