Apple TV might get a motion controller remote!
Apple has applied for patents on technologies which would enable them to supply Nintendo Wii like controllers for their Apple TV product.
The patent application call this remote Wand. And it suggests that Apple is planning to expand Apple TV’s capabilities into a full-fledged entertainment system.
Apple has proposed a variety of uses for this device including “zoom operations, a keyboard application, an image application, an illustration application, and a media application.”
Apple has been pretty slow with the development of their Apple TV device. Not much has changed ever since the first version was launched a couple of years. They keep on releasing minor software updates now and then.
But knowing Apple, they might come out with a major surprise any day…
