O2 is considering lowering iPhone prices in May
Mobile Today has revealed that UK based telecom company O2 is considering lowering the price of the iPhone in May this year.
Apple could launch a new edition of the iPhone in June-July period and the prices could be dropped by May this year.
The report said that the iPhone 3G could be offered for free on their £35 and £45 per month tariffs from May.
O2 is already offering the 16GB device for free on the £75 per month contract. The 8GB iPhone 3G is free on the £75 and £45 per month plans.
Looks like the company would want to clear their inventories ahead of the launch of the new generation iPhone later this year.
Apple has not given out any hints on what the new iPhone could look like. They are however scheduled to reveal the iPhone 3.0 software this month.
