IBM rumored to be interested in acquiring Sun Microsystems!
International Business Machines is said to be in talks with Sun Microsystems over a possible acquisition deal.
Sources say that the deal could be worth at least $6.5 billion in cash.
This was reported in a news item by the Wall Street Journal.
The rumors of such a deal led to a boost in the stock price of Sun Microsystems. It went up $3.23, or 65 percent, to $8.20 in premarket trading.
IBM would gain in the finance and telecommunications markets if they do acquire Sun Microsystems.
IBM and Sun have for now have not commented on these reports in the media.
