Samsung Electronics launches Samsung Movies mobile service

Samsung Electronics has announced the launch of a new service which would enable mobile users to buy or rent movies and TV series online which can then be downloaded on their mobile devices.

The company is currently offering over 500 blockbusters from studios like Warner, Paramount and Universal.

With this, Samsung is the latest challenger in the market which has existing players like Apple iTunes and Nokia OVI.

Samsung Movies is designed for users of Samsung mobile phones. It is currently available in Britain and Germany. The company is planning to expand it to other European markets in the coming months.

For now, the service is only compatible with video-enabled Samsung phones like the recently launched Tocco Ultra Edition.

Samsung is planning to expand the support to their other consumer electronic products like laptops and television sets.
