Microsoft Silverlight to power online delivery of Winter Olympics in 2010
NBC Universal has expanded their content delivery collaboration with software giant Microsoft.
Microsoft Silverlight technology would be used to power the online delivery of the Winter Olympics in 2010.
The two companies worked together to bring the online coverage of the 2008 Summer Olympics using Silverlight technology which competes with Adobe Flash.
Microsoft Silverlight was used to stream more than 2,000 hours of live events during the Beijing Games.
NBC claims that the broadcast was a big success as it was viewed by more than 52 million unique users.
