Tata Nano might command a premium of Rs 30,000

An insider has stated that the Tata Nano small car might command a premium of around Rs. 30,000 if the demand for the car turns out to be as much as the interest shown by potential customers.

Sources say that the company received more than 50 million queries online with respect to Nano.

Even if just 1% of those queries result in actual orders, Tata Motors is going to find it tough to deliver enough cars to meet all the initial orders.

Tata Nano would be launched later today and the bookings are expected to be open in the coming days.

Work is not yet complete on the Nano plant being constructed in Gujarat and the company would be manufacturing the units at their existing plants for now.

This means that they are going to be unable to provide enough vehicles in the coming months.

Market analysts believe that Tata would only be able to manufacture around 3000 cars per month in the near future.

And this could mean a big bonanza for the customers who are lucky enough to get their hands on a Nano for the time being.
