Rumors say Dell Smartphone failed to impress carriers!

Reports online claim that Dell developed a smartphone model but failed to impress mobile service providers.

Dell remains the only top personal computer maker to be not present in the mobile phone market.

The company has not officially stated their plans to enter this market but market analysts believe they must be working on something.

Market analyst Shaw Wu said that the company has decided to start from scratch to make a smartphone that would be capable of taking on the cooler phones on sale in the market.

Dell requires the support of the mobile carriers to make their rumored phone a hit. Wu spoke about the rumored phone that was said to be just not good enough: “From our conversations with supply chain and industry sources, it appears that it ultimately came down to lack of carrier interest”.

Apple iPhone 3G, Palm Pre and the recently launched Blackberry smartphones have made the touchscreen segment a very competitive market for any new player to shine.
