Project Playlist gets access to EMI Music
EMI Music and Project Playlist have announced that they have signed on a deal.
Project Playlist would now get access to EMI Music for their web based service.
Ronn Werre, president of EMI’s Music Services spoke about collaborating with Project Playlist: “Making our music available on a fan favorite like Project Playlist is part of EMI Music’s mission to connect artists and fans and to give fans more ways to discover new artists”.
It also means that EMI is no longer a part of the lawsuit filed against this service by the music industry giants.
Project Playlist still faces the lawsuit originally filed by Recording Industry Association of America, Universal and Warner.
Owen Van Natta, the chief executive of Playlist spoke about EMI deal: “This partnership will provide us with a wide-ranging selection of content to satisfy our users? appetites to share and purchase music. We are excited to now have both EMI and SONY BMG Music catalogs available and we hope to continue to expand and enhance our service.”
