Microsoft takes a break from patches
No, Windows Operating System is not yet perfect. Security firms still have a list of bugs and security glitches, which requires to be fixed in the operating system. However, Microsoft has strange news for the users of their software all around the world. No patches this month! They had released an impressive amount of 13 security bulletins covering 17 security flaws last month.
Microsoft’s Security Response Center has been releasing a security bulletin every second Tuesday of each month pointing out vulnerability problems in the company’s software since quite sometime. Microsoft’s own customers are informed in advanced of these bulletins and these were the companies, which have been told that no security updates are scheduled in the current month.
The last time Microsoft skipped a month in releasing updates for their software was way back in the month of December 2003. However, the company still has not put a seal on this news, as the company would still be carrying out its monthly technical Webcast on Wednesday.
Security agencies caution system administrator that this news is not worth celebrating as they have issued advisories on 30 unfixed or only partially fixed security holes on MS Internet Explorer 6 alone. The number goes higher when other applications are taken into consideration.
Nevertheless, this would bring some relief to the guys responsible in the big companies to keep their networks updated with the latest security updates.
