Newspaper companies are struggling to survive in these tough times due to lack of advertising revenues.
A couple of news media giants have claimed that web services like Google makes money from their content which is simply not acceptable.
Google has now responded by saying that they are friends of the newspaper industry and they want to collaborate not steal from them.
Google continues to claim that their web based news service Google News does not break any copyright policies.
Eric E. Schmidt, Google’s chief executive spoke about the Fair Usage belief when it comes to Google News: “The ultimate resolution of all is this will be determined by how you interpret fair use”.
It is a well known fact that Google News delivers a lot of free traffic to newspaper web sites.
