Microsoft Zune HD might take on Apple iPod Touch

Engadget has posted some images which appear to be of an upcoming edition of Microsoft Zune portable media player.

The image showcases a brand new device named ZuneHD.

Little information is available except for the images which showcases a device with few buttons.

This could potentially be the Microsoft’s answer to the Apple iPod Touch.

And judging by its name, it might feature a high definition display.

Some of the rumored features of this device:

Multitouch capacitive OLED screen in a 16:9 aspect ratio
Will support Xbox “3D” games
Playback of “HD media” available from Zune Marketplace
TV-out from what appears to be mini-HDMI port on the device’s left side
HD Radio
Comes in 16GB or 32GB storage capacities
Wireless sync
A browser that supports multitouch
Launches this fall in the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, and possibly other European countries
Likely to be a “showcase” for Windows Mobile 7
