Time Warner Cable gives in to customer demands
Time Warner Cable has announced that they are giving up on the idea of metered billing for their customers.
The company had been testing internet data transfer caps in some cities and had plans to expand this in more areas.
TWC said that they are canceling their plans for the time being “while the customer education process continues.”
The company had previously boosted the limits on their plans hoping that it would satisfy the protesting customers.
Congressman Eric Massa had even announced plans to introduce a bill to stop this mess.
Massa spoke about these new developments: “We’re delighted that commonsense prevailed. The people of Western New York spoke and I heard them loud and clear. Together we have won and I am glad that I was able to play a small part in bringing about this change. This is a true grassroots victory, but we will move forward with our legislation to ensure that any future plans to charge customers based on how much they download do not spring up anywhere else.”
