Data Encryption now available on laptops with solid state drives

Both Dell and Samsung have announced that they are now going to offer data encryption solutions on laptops shipping with solid state drives.

Samsung would be bundling software from Wave Systems’ Embassy management software with their laptops.

Dell would be offering similar solutions on their Latitude line of laptops.

Solid state drives are popular on laptops as they are smaller in size and consume less power.

Samsung claims that encryption does not affect the performance of their solid state drives.
