Blu-ray disc sales are up in the US market
Adams Media Research has reported that about 9 million Blu-ray discs were sold in the US market in the first three months of the year.
This number is almost double compared to sale of 4.8 million units sold in the first quarter of last year.
Analysts say that the number growth is impressive considering the recession in the global markets.
The report further said that there are 10.5 million Blu-ray “households” in the US market.
This number however includes the owners of Sony Playstation 3 gaming console which comes loaded with a Blu-Ray drive.
