OLPC XO-1 laptop now powered with Via technology
One Laptop Per Child project has announced that they are now using Via’s C7-M processor on their updated edition of XO laptop.
The company has replaced an AMD processor for this Via chip in their XO-1 laptop.
OLPC said that this processor from Via operate at clock speeds of between 400MHz and 1GHz.
This is an improvement from the processor being provided by AMD.
OLPC team added that this would boost the processing capabilities of the XO laptop.
The processor from Via comes loaded with a 3D graphics engine and high-definition video decoder.
