Nokia sells Mobile Broadcast Solutions unit to Wipro

World’s largest mobile phone manufacturer Nokia has announced that they are selling their enterprise mobile TV unit to Indian IT firm Wipro.

This Nokia division has around 40 employees. This group specializes in developing mobile TV solutions…

Nokia spoke about selling this unit: “We wanted to focus on the consumer side of things, the mobile TV client in the devices, rather than on the business-to-business side.”

    Yes, it is an interesting acquisition considering Indian scenario.

    Even without 3G indian operators can leverage this feature as DVB-H does not depend upon 3G, thus being the first players to bring mobile tv to people….Imagine watching IPL2 when you are travelling…. :)
