Google Public Data search launched
US based search engine giant Google has announced a new search tool which enables the web users to go through public data available on government websites.
These data is often buried deep inside official government websites and is not presented in user-friendly interface.
Google Public Data search tool collects the information from these sources and makes it searchable.
The company said that this new product is latest in the company’s efforts to make information from federal, state and local governments accessible to citizens.
For now, they are making U.S. population and unemployment data from the Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics available.
Google said that they would enhance the usability of the tool in the coming months with data collected from more sources.
