Acer dominates Asus in netbook segment
Acer has managed to sell more netbooks compared to rival Asus.
Netbooks are becoming hugely popular as a secondary laptop at homes.
Customers are also buying them for traveling purposes. They are cheap and much portable compared to regular laptops.
Acer said that they shipped over 5 million netbooks last year. Asus in comparison managed to ship around 4.9 million units last year.
This year is going to be much better as Acer is aiming to ship between 10 million and 12 million netbooks.
The company however failed to meet their target of shipping 6 million netbooks last year.
