Acer working on several Android powered devices
Acer has revealed that they are working on several devices powered by Google Android mobile platform.
The company is aiming to launch an Android Smartphone in the coming months.
Acer however clarified that they are not yet sure whether Android could be used as the operating system on a netbook.
Acer president and CEO Gianfranco Lanci had this to say: “The entire industry is looking at Android. We are testing Android on a lot of different solutions. We are working on an Android solution for the smartphone, but I think it’s too early to say if we’re going to see Android on a netbook in the near future.”
Google Android mobile platform has been designed for mobile devices. However, some users have successfully managed to run it over netbooks available in the market today.
