Palm Pre launch date and price leaked?
US based retailing giant Best Buy just might have leaked the launch date and the price of the much awaited Palm Pre Smartphone.
An inside source has been quoted as saying that the Palm Pre would be offered $200 with a new two-year contract, or $300 for current customers who are upgrading.
This price point is similar to the Apple iPhone 3G which is offered by AT&T in the US market.
Palm Pre would be exclusively sold through Sprint Nextel.
Palm had stated that they would be launching the Pre in the first half of the year but no launch date was given.
This inside source claimed that Pre would go on sale in the US market on June 7.
Palm Pre is powered by the new webOS mobile platform from Palm. It is the latest Linux based platform that would compete with Google Android in the market.

Thank God! The last rumor I had heard was a base price of $1000. I could build 2 ultra-portables for that. $300 is a more respectable price point.
