AMD finally merges chips and graphic operations
AMD has finally announced that they are merging the operations of their chip and graphics operations.
AMD had acquired ATI around three years ago and this merger was long anticipated.
The merged entity would have four operating units.
The company said that this merger would help them in internal development of new products and technologies.
The company further announced that Randy Allen is leaving the company. He was in charge of the launch of the AMD’s quad-core “Barcelona” Opteron processor.
