Garmin-Asus Nuvifone GPS Smartphone delayed again
Garmin had announced their entry into the mobile market with their Nuvifone. But that phone is yet to arrive in the market and it has been delayed once again.
The phone is Linux based but comes powered with a proprietary platform. It is optimized for GPS functionality.
The company had previously aimed to launch the device sometime in the first half of the current year.
However, looks like the phone would only be able to arrive in the second half of the year.
A company representative has been quoted as saying: “Smartphones are complicated and bringing one to market that’s built totally from the ground up on a custom Linux platform is not an easy task.”
Considering the phone was originally expected to launch last year, the delay is mind boggling.
