IBM introduces a special mouse adapter for people suffering from hand tremors

Statistics show that millions of people around the world are suffering from hand tremor problems. This makes it tough for these users to use the generic mouse available in the market considering the jerky movement is transmitted to the screen cursor making it impossible to work properly. This also is a big problem with the people who are suffering from Parkinson’s disease.

IBM (International Business Machines Corporation) researchers have been working to find out a solution to this problem and the result is a special mouse accessory, which sits along the existing mouse of the user. It filters out the shaking movements of the hand in similar manner to how the image stabilizing systems built into some of top of the range cameras works. The device supports all types of computers and operating systems and is already available through some online stores for prices around £67.50 including VAT and postage and packing.

The company has licensed the technology to a small British company Montrose Secam Limited.
