Tune Hunter files a lawsuit against Shazam and several big names

Shazam provides a music identification service that is available on several mobile platforms and devices.

The service has been sued by a company called Tune Hunter who claims that Shazam is infringing on their patented technologies.

Samsung, Apple, Amazon.com, Napster, Motorola, Gracenote, Verizon Wireless, LG Electronics, AT&T Mobility, and Pantech Wireless have also been named in the lawsuit.

The patent involved in this lawsuit is the U.S. Patent No. 6,941,275 which was issued to Remi Swierczek/Tune Hunter in September 2005.

The company claims that Shazam and all the other companies benefit from technology which is patented in their name.

They are asking for unspecified damages along with an injunction from the courts.
