Google seems to be testing image search integration with regular search
Things like this generate excitement for people who keeps track of how search engines are enhancing their capabilities to attract and keep the users attached to them. Google seems to be testing image integration with their normal search engine today as we found out at TechWhack. Searching for famous Indian Celebrities in the web search showed us top image search results from the Google Image Search for the same keyword.
It seems after integrating lots of other services like Google News, Google Maps and even Calculators and Share Prices, it’s the turn of image search integration. It also seems to be under a test phase considering many popular names did not result in anything new on the Google Web Search. It is quite random at the moment and we expect it to get better in the coming days.

So, do not be surprised if you are searching for George Clooney on Google and you see images at the top. We also expect Google to make this kind of feature addition optional. At the time of writing this article, Google Preferences showed nothing related to this feature. There are also potential problems with personal images of random people coming out on web search pages, which might not please the privacy advocates. But the fact that the images are picked up from the image search database means, they are already there accessible.
Let us see when Google announces this feature addition officially through their Blog.
Some sample searches: Hema Malini | Rani Mukherjee | Monica Lewinsky
