Apple iPhone market share growing at an impressive date
Gartner has revealed in its latest report that Apple has increased its market share in the smartphone segment massively in the last one year.
The report said that Apple’s share in the worldwide smartphone market grew from 5.3 percent in the first quarter of 2008 to 10.8 percent in the first quarter of 2009.
Apple sold around 3.9 million units of iPhones in the first three months of the current year.
The company gained from entering into new markets with the iPhone smartphone.
Apple however is not alone who is growing. Research in Motion also saw impressive growth from 13.3 percent in first quarter of 2008 to 19.9 percent in 2009.
They sold around 7.2 million smartphones in the first three months of the year.
