Charles F. Bolden Jr. Could be the next NASA boss
US president Barack Obama has nominated Charles F. Bolden Jr. to serve as the next chief of NASA.
Bolden is a former astronaut who was involved in several critical missions for the US Space Agency.
He is also a former combat pilot and Marine Corps major general.
Obama spoke about his choice for the top NASA position: “These talented individuals will help put NASA on course to boldly push the boundaries of science, aeronautics, and exploration in the 21st century and ensure the long-term vibrancy of America’s space program.”
Mike Griffin spoke about this announcement: “The president could not have made a better choice. Charlie Bolden is an accomplished pilot, a veteran astronaut, and an old friend. He has spent his life in the service of his country, and our nation is the better for it. NASA will be in good hands.”
