Lenovo to develop notebooks based on Nvidia Ion graphics platform
China based personal computer maker Lenovo has announced that they would now be manufacturing cheap notebook models powered with Nvidia Ion graphics platform.
Lenovo is hoping to develop notebooks with more graphics horsepower than typical laptops using this new platform.
Nvidia Ion platform is designed to be used with low-cost processors like the Intel Atom range which is popular in netbooks.
Nvidia claims that using their platform, netbooks can be made much more powerful while keeping them low cost.
Intel bundles their Atom processor with their own chip platform which is currently not very powerful and that limits the capabilities of the final product.
