Hewlett-Packard could use ARM processors in netbooks
Hewlett-Packard has admitted that they are considering using processors made by ARM for some of their netbook models.
Intel Atom is currently the most popular processor used in these low cost computing machines.
HP said: “We look at ARM quite a bit. The mini category is one that plays closely to ARM.”
ARM processors are already being used in some of the most popular smartphones out there like Apple iPhone and Blackberry. It also powers the Sony Playstation Portable gaming device.
Qualcomm is another company which is working on developing chips that could power these low cost computers.
