Time Warner close to spinning off AOL

Time Warner has hinted that they are close to finding a future plan for their subsidiary AOL.

Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes said: “We believe AOL will then have a better opportunity to achieve its full potential as a leading independent Internet company.”

This is just another way of saying that AOL has failed to generate enough revenues for them and they want to get rid of it.

AOL was once the leading provider of internet services in the USA. It was a huge online media entity a couple of years ago.

Things have changed massively in those years and now AOL is struggling with their new model of generation revenues through online advertising.
