Honda Jazz launch in India on June 10

Checkout: Honda Jazz Photos | More about Honda Jazz

Honda India is going to launch their Jazz hatchback on June 10.

Honda Jazz would become the costliest car in its segment. It is expected to be priced between Rs 6.5-6.8 lakh.

This would make it expensive than the Skoda Fabia which is currently the most expensive hatchback in its segment in India.

Hyundai i20 and Maruti Suzuki Swift are the other two prime rivals of Honda Jazz in the Indian market.

Honda seems to be avoiding entering into a price war with Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki. They know they cannot compete with the other two in terms of pricing of their models.

Honda Jazz in India would be powered with a 1.2 liter petrol engine capable of 90PS power.

Everyone know that Honda and Toyota car’s are good in performance, even people know that Indian Car maker Maruti never left a unturned stone to defeat them, so Honda should think thrice before finalizing the price for Jazz between (Rs 6.5 to Rs 6.9), because on same track there is a Car “changing its gears very fast leaving dust on road” with price between (Rs 4.8 to Rs5.2) and to Name this roaring car its Ritz from Maruti India.

If this is going to be such sky high priced, then definitely it is going to be big flop, what happened to Skoda Fabia they launched at around 7 lakh and now same car is being sold in 5.5 lakh…..so HONDA Guys please think hard before doing that.

ATT: Indians are not poor… And even Indians are not fools like other Eu~, to show off or to spend lot on small & cheep cars… Indians are smart & not blind to take what other taking… Indians are choosers, ha there are some cheaps who think Indians poor. Indians are paying 3 times more on each car compare to other cheap countries.

    Hi All

Indians are neither poor nor fools, same way even HONDA is also not a fool… Honda is just trying to know the feedback on price part by launching at a very high Tag, later based on the comments & reviews of public price would be fixed. Lets have a look on the car & then decide is it really worth paying that price.. if its highly priced for what it is Honda has to reduce the price for its survival in India.

Jazz is a great car i have seen it in Singapore..But out here Honda guys campaign smacks of just arrogance..as their dealers just quote atrocious price for Jazz ranging from 7.2-8.5 lacs (on road Mumbai)..This is ridiculous..Outside India, Jazz sells at approx 20% premium to Swift..Honda has to be in their senses to price this here..

I also had a look on Jazz. It’s a great car but yes price is too high for such car size.
but yes there r chances of it’s priced to be reduced as High price comments r from mass audience . So 2 survive honda has to reduce t prices as done for civic hybrid.

Honda has yet not revealed the official pricing of this model. So, the high price is more like a speculation.

But Honda has been increasing the price of all their models so it is unlikely that Jazz would be sold at prices comparable to Fabia or Swift.

If Honda cars remain to be priced at 20-30% more than others in same segment it is because the resale for used car is also 20% more – there are customers ready for that. Whether the same holds true for Jazz remains to be seen – may or may not. After all the proof of the pudding is in the eating, as the dealers of low-selling Fabia will tell you!

I spoke to the sales rep in Apex Honda and she told that the car would be priced between 7-8 Lacs…. Thats too much… Think if Fiat Linea…. Better buy in the same price…. Its amazing car… can change the image of Fiat

    Honda,

You must be deciding today what to price the car.
I am not coming to your showroom if the price is above 5.5 L.
I am not in the minority, by the way.
We would definitely start a Net campaign to bring down your snobbish dealers’ smirks and high handed behavior, besides your prices.
    Have a fitful night thinking.

I completely agree with you guys. Honda should have priced the car sensibly. At 6.98L Why shouldn’t I go to a Swift Dzire, SX4 or a Ford Fiesta?? Understand that the brand Honda richly deserves a premium but 6.98 L I feel is highway robbery

I waited for this car so long but after looking at the prise tag, now I am looking for other cars like Swift in the same segmant.
Jazz is a good car but overly priced.

Possibly this will be the first instance of failure of Honda in India since they started off in 1997,unless all the City owners are fascinated by this large hatch and are considering trade-in(which is quite unlikely). With a budget of INR 8 lakhs,I would prefer the City,SX4,Fiesta and most importantly, the Linea.
Foolish pricing is what comes to mind when we discuss the price of the Jazz in India. We are not fools.
    Better put the price right,Honda.

Don’t worry people,we would rather go in for an ex-European Car Of The Year (in 2005),which is Italian and styled by Giugiaro. This car looks stunning(much better than this Japanese hatch),and we can pick up the top-end model in red.
You got it right.Am referring to the Grande Punto.
Otherwise we have the Swift,Ritz,Logan,Fabia,SX4,Dzire,Linea,Fiesta,City….so many of them.
In my opinion,5.5-7.5 lakhs for Jazz should have been much more sensible.Honda is just being overconfident and it will have to revise the price.
Remember Hyundai Elantra? It was launched as the performance sedan and after all that hype,it faced a massive price cut.
