Apple to build a data centre in North Carolina
Apple has confirmed that they are going to establish their new data center in North Carolina.
This announcement comes just days after NC agreed to giving them special tax breaks.
Gov. Beverly Perdue spoke about Apple’s decision: “North Carolina continues to be a prime location for growing and expanding global technology companies. We welcome Apple to North Carolina and look forward to working with the company as it begins providing a significant economic boost to local communities and the state.”
This new setup would employ at least 50 people full-time. Apple would be investing close to around USD 1 billion over a period of nine years.
State Commerce Secretary Keith Crisco added: “Technology-driven projects like this may bring fewer overall jobs than traditional industry, but they have a tremendous economic impact through locally purchased goods and services.”
