Apple iPod Touch needs a price cut now
Apple has just launched the latest generation iPhone. They call it iPhone 3G S.
It is available in two capacities.
Apple iPhone 3G S 16GB: USD 199
Apple iPhone 3G S 32GB: USD 299
The earlier generation iPhone 3G is also available in the 8GB version for just USD 99.
Now compare these prices to the cost of the iPod Touch:
Apple iPod Touch 8GB: USD 229
Apple iPod Touch 16GB: USD 299
Apple iPod Touch 32GB: USD 399
It is a well known fact that AT&T is subsidizing the cost of the iPhone in the US market.
Still, Apple should have announced a price cut on the iPod Touch range.
Microsoft is scheduled to launch a brand new touchscreen edition of Zune later this year. A price cut now would have made it a complicated decision for Microsoft to price their Zune HD.
