Archos 9 MiniPC to be powered by Windows 7
Archos was said to be working on a tablet media player that was supposed to be powered by Google Android mobile platform.
However, that was not to be.
Archos has announced their latest product Archos 9 which would be powered with Windows 7 instead.
Archos 9 is essentially a touchscreen tablet designed for web usage. It comes loaded with an 8.9-inch resistive touchscreen display.
The device features 80GB of storage capacity along with support for DVB-T broadcasts.
Archos said that this device would be powered with an Intel Atom Z515 processor along with 1GB RAM.
Other features include support for: Wi-FI (802.11 b/g), Bluetooth 2.1, Ethernet and 2 USB ports. The device also comes equipped with an audio and video output along with two stereo speakers in addition to a 1.3 mp camera and microphone.
They are aiming to launch it in the market after the public launch of Windows 7 in October this year. Price tag is expected to be around USD 635.
