ISRO: Oceansat-2 is all set to launch in coming months
Indian Space Research Organisation has announced that they are prepared to launch their latest satellite, Oceansat-2 into the orbit of the Earth.
ISRO said that this new satellite would enable them to keep an eye on the cyclones. They would also get the ability to better predict the arrival of monsoons.
This satellite would carry with it three sensors:
Ocean Colour Monitor,
Ku-Band Pencil Beam Scatterometer,
Radio Occultation Sounder
ISRO chairman G Madhavan Nair added that this new satellite could be launched next month or in August.
It would be launched through their Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle.
Nair added: “It will be a unique mission and the satellite will help us study sea surface, wind and also track fishing zones.”
