YouTube can now play videos from cache!

Google Operating System is reporting that Google has finally enabled the cache support for YouTube hosted videos.

We could already save the videos downloaded by YouTube from the browser cache. But the browser edition used to reload the video from the web itself.

YouTube is now able to play the video from the cached file if it is available. This could come real handy for people who are on slow connections and they check out the same video multiple times.

The report also talks about Google testing out HTML5 support for video playing. They have a test YouTube video that bypasses the requirement of Adobe Flash. But the support is very limited. Google Chrome supports it. Opera 10 does not. Internet Explorer also does not support the video tag.
