Microsoft not impressed with early success of Bing

Microsoft is playing it rather safe with the launch of the Bing.

Bing has been performing well. It has received favourable reviews generally.

Microsoft chief Steve Ballmer has for now said that they are happy with the progress they have made.

Ballmer said: “We may be successful, we may not, but we can’t be successful without being committed to changing things, changing the approach, changing the business model and you can’t give up in six months, or a year or two years.”

Microsoft calls Bing as more than a search engine. They call it the Decision Engine. We are not sure if Bing is their yet but it is still a much better attempt at search compared to Live Search engine.

Ballmer declined to comment on questions related to whether they are still interested in Yahoo Search after the launch of the Bing search engine.
