Google blocked once again in China

US based search engine giant Google has said that they are now investigating the reports that China has blocked access to several of their services in the country.

Google said in a statement: “We understand that many users could not access Google.com in mainland China, along with linked services, such as Google Docs and Gmail, during the last 24 hours.”

China has reportedly warned Google that they would have to clean up their search engine of objectionable content.

Google had stated last week that they were working hard to eliminate pornography from the China edition of their search engine.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Qin Gang had this to say: “We have found that Google has spread a lot of pornographic content, which is a serious violation of Chinese laws and regulations.”
