Apple iPhone 3GS boost mobile video uploads on YouTube
Google owned video sharing service YouTube has revealed that since the launch of Apple iPhone 3GS smartphone, mobile uploads on the service have boomed.
YouTube claims that mobile uploads in the past couple of days have increased by almost 400%.
This is a phenomenal improvement considering it is due to the launch of a single mobile device.
Apple iPhone 3GS is the first iPhone model to support video recording. Owners can also upload their recorded videos directly to YouTube from the mobile device itself.
This might not be good news for YouTube as this is going to increase the number of irrelevant videos on the service.
However, the ability to instantly upload any video is also a great feature to have considering it allows for proactive citizen journalism.
