China Telecom reportedly in talks with Research in Motion
Industry sources claim that China Telecom is in talks with Research in Motion to bring Blackberry to the Chinese market.
The two companies are discussing the possibility of bring Blackberry models with 3G support for sale in China.
China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom are all working hard on expanding their 3G network in the country for growth.
China Mobile incidentally already offers Blackberry services but not the Blackberry smartphones.
Chinese mobile users are said to be fans of voice and text messaging rather than data services where RIM excels.
Apple iPhone is however one of the most popular unofficially available smartphone in the Chinese market.
Apple is also said to be in talks with multiple players in China to launch the iPhone officially.
