Apple now fixing cracked iPhone screens in Apple Stores
Apple iPhone is a fascinating device. It offers few buttons as most of the functionality is done through the software.
It features a large display which is prone to breaking on falls.
Apple usually replaces the device if it was under warranty and covered by it. But they are now performing in-store replacement of the broken screen.
This can come handy for users of iPhones who still have it under warranty and have a similar problem with their unit.
This facility does not work with iPod Touch units though. Apple iPod Touch are made using a different technique which makes replacing a damaged screen almost impossible.
Apple is charging USD 199 for replacing the screen if the damage was caused by the user. It is free for phones under warranty if it’s a manufacturing fault.
