Fiat collaborates with Guangzhou Automobile Group in China

Italian automaker Fiat has announced a deal with Guangzhou Automobile Group to manufacture cars in the Chinese market.

With this, Fiat has announced definite plans to enter the growing Chinese market.

The two companies would invest more than 400 million Euros in this joint venture. Fiat said that they are aiming to begin production by 2011.

This is just the latest step taken by Fiat to become a global automotive giant. They have just acquired Chrysler in the US and have also bid for a GM unit in the European market.

Market analysts believe that for Fiat to become a global giant, they have to become a major player in the China market.
