Sony announces their netbook model Sony Vaio W

Japanese consumer electronics giant Sony has finally announced their first netbook model Vaio W.

The company calls this new product the chic new line of mini notebooks.

Sony Vaio W is essentially a 10.1-inch Netbook and the first model comes powered with an Intel Atom N280 processor.

It also features 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard disk drive. Customers would get it with Windows XP operating system.

It sounds like a typical netbook available from almost every PC manufacturer in the market now.

The difference is the premium price tag. Sony is aiming to sell this product for around USD 500.

Sony Vaio W would feature a higher-resolution screen at 1,366×768. It would also feature a Memory Stick slot along with the regular SD card slot.
