Sprint Nextel aims to have Wi-Fi on all smartphone models

Sprint Nextel has revealed that they are aiming to have Wi-Fi support on all of their Smartphone models in the coming years.

The company said that they are embracing Wi-Fi in all its major devices going forward.

They have communicated the same to all their partner mobile phone makers.

Verizon too is said to be in the process of shifting to Wi-Fi only smartphone models in the near future.

Market analysts believe that mobile service providers are finally accepting the fact that Wi-Fi support is not going to hurt their revenues. Instead, it helps in reducing the load on their networks considering users can shift to faster local networks at their homes and offices.
