Barnes & Noble is the latest player offering eBooks for sale online. They are taking on Amazon with this new store.
The company has on offer more than 700,000 titles that can be read on devices like the Apple iPhone.
They are charging around $9.99 for new releases and bestsellers. The company added that they are going to become the exclusive provider of digital books on the Plastic Logic e-reader which is scheduled to release sometime next year.
Barnes and Noble is aiming to expand the offerings to around a million eBooks by the end of next year.
The online retailing giant said in a statement: “Readers should have access to the books in their digital library from any device, from anywhere, at any time.”
