Verizon Wireless would offer Palm Pre next year

Verizon Wireless has confirmed that they are set to bring Palm Pre on their network sometime early next year.

Palm Pre is currently available only on the Sprint Nextel network in the US market.

Palm Pre was launched in June this year and has been a decent success for the company.

It is considered to be the strongest challenger to the Apple iPhone yet though it has failed to do any harm to Apple.

Verizon already has an exclusive deal to sell the Blackberry Storm which turned out to not so exciting.

The company needs new smartphones to prevent existing subscribers from migrating to rival services. And Palm Pre is a good device to have when you cannot have the Apple iPhone.

AT&T has been the only provider of the iPhone in the US market since it was launched a couple of years ago.

Their deal with Apple would end someday. But no timelines are public yet.
